Survey Gives Thumbs Up To Freshers’

I will be publishing the full results form the Freshers’ survey over the weekend, but in summary the campaign has been viewed in a positive light, with 75% saying it was better than last year, with users rating communication 4.3/5.
Once again, thank you all for making the freshers’ campaign such a great success… come back over the weekend to see the final part of my report and the rest of the survey results.

Working Life: The Future

As you know I have been conducting a consultation in the future of Working Life. Having taken on the Working Life portfolio, I wanted to make sure CF was doing the right thing for young professionals and working members and fulfilling our role in bridging the gap between university and association politics.
The consultation and survey results have now been analysed and I will be taking proposals for the future of Working Life to the next NME meeting on the 15th. In consultation with my colleagues on the NME I have …

Working Life Proposals

As you know, over the past 2 months, I have been looking at how to improve Working Life and make it a better and more effective organisation for the future. The fist stage is over and the Working Life survey has now closed. I want to thank the 200 or so people who took part in the Working Life consultation for your time and contributions. It has been a very well received consultation and a very diverse group of people have participated, which means the results should give as accurate a picture …

NO2ID Student Union Motion

As promised, here is the Draft Motion to put to your Student Union in support of the NO2ID campaign.
Following on from success at freshers’ and the launch of the CF NO2ID campaign this month, we are asking CF branches to put forward a motion to their union calling for opposition to the National Identity Card and Identity Database.
No2ID have produced this Draft Motion which will need editing and adapting according to your union to fit in with their standard format. The reason we are suggesting you use this as a …

Membership Growing Stronger

The first sets of membership data have started coming back in from Uni’s up and down the country, and it’s looking good. Across the country, from Exeter to Aberystwyth, Edinburgh to UCL membership is growing and we are looking good to hit our membership target by the end of the year.
We still need a lot more data in to build up a full picture – so please make sure your data gets in to us ASAP after your freshers’ events. We plan to issue members with full membership cards over …

As the buzz from conference season winds down, the banners and slogans packed away for another year, it comes time to reflect on what was achieved.
I’m sure you will all agreed that CF had a great conference in Birmingham this year. With the Conservatives moving to the UK’s second city, the conference was swamped by young and enthusiastic delegates.
SATURDAY
CF training (provided by YBF) on Saturday kicked off the conference for CFers, with excellent tips on how to react when you suddenly find a camera pointing in your face, …

As freshers’ season draws to a close, it may seem like a good time to relax a little bit. But the work for CF is never done, and we are keen to make sure we make the most of 2008 – taking the highs and the lows to improve for the future. So here’s your chance to have your say…
We have a short little survey for your to give us your views on the campaign this year, so as Chairman, Freshers’ Manager, life-long Conservative or a new member you can …

I’ve had a few queries this week about membership fees and confussion over what happens to the money. Hopefully this will answer that question, but if you are still unclear please call/email me:
Any membership fees a branch collects they get to keep for use on campaigns, social action – or however they see fit. The only thing that needs to come back to CCHQ is the blue copy of the membership forms (and an emailed electronic copy), and of course your photos of CF at freshers’ to be in with …
