Off to Party Conference in Manchester
On Sunday I’m heading up, like a lot of you will be, to Manchester for the CF training conference, and the first CF event during the 2009 Conservative Party Conference! We’ve got a large and exciting schedule of events this year and the National Executive hope you will attend them all!
We’ve tried to build a schedule to include CF Members who haven’t bought a pass for the Conference itself and for local members who have weekday commitments.
On the Sunday we have media & TV training for members followed by a pre-Conference party in the evening. On Monday night Greater Manchester CF are hosting a curry night down in Manchester’s Curry Mile, which offers a huge meal for only £8!
Tuesday is our busiest day with a debate on Libertarianism in the Conservative Party to kick things off. We have a superb panel made up of John Redwood MP, Bruce Anderson, and Jesse Norman – expect lively debate and contentious views! Then we move to Albert Square, outside the Town Hall, for a huge rally with NO2ID; Damian Green will be speaking and lots of the media will be attending.
Throughout the whole Conference week we’re asking CF members to help our with this year’s social action project – on Wednesday morning we will be taking a group up to help out and you’re very welcome to join us.
To finish our schedule of events we have on Wednesday night the annual CF Conference reception. This is being held in Pure nightclub just before the Party For Change event that the Party has organised. For just £5 you get entry into both parties, and we have several members of the Shadow Cabinet popping in to our reception so make sure you don’t miss it!
Preparation, debate, social action, party and protest: we’ve got them all covered!
We won’t be posting on the CF website during Conference, but you can see updates/news/gossip if you follow our Twitter account: @ConsFuture
So I look forward to hopefully seeing you during the week!

The curry will be at the Al Nawaz restaurant, which is situated in the heart of Manchester’s curry mile. At £8 for a 5 course meal, it’s great value. The address for Al Nawaz is 74 – 84 Wilmslow Road, Rusholme, Manchester, M14 5AL if you can’t meet us at Piccadilly.
This is just a short bus journey from this citry centre, and we will be meeting first by the main bus stop in the city at Piccadilly gardens at 7:15pm We’ll be waiting in the square behind the bus stop as opposed to the bus stop itself whilst everyone gathers. We’ll be carrying some form of sign which makes it obvious who we are so it should be straight forward to find us.
