Overview by Regional Chairman

Well the Easter dust has settled and the holidays are once again a distant memory! I hope you have had the opportunity to put your feet up during the break and tuck into some good chocolate eggs!

Fresh from Spring forum I am shortly heading out to Syria for a 2 week break before making the big push with the Yorkshire team next month for the European Elections due to be held on June 4th. At Cheltenham I met up with CF National Chairman Michael Rock where we had a discussion on Yorkshire CF progress. Michael is very happy with the work we have been putting in together and would like me to pass on his thanks to all those members who have been helping to support the Yorkshire CF team and our local branches.  It is our region which is leading the way and with your continud support we can make further advances and get Labour and the Liberals off the map in Yorkshire!

Looking ahead May is set to be a very busy month for Yorkshire as we gear up our local campaigns in support of the European Elections on June 4th. If you can find time to support our CF campaigns please do get in touch at chairman@yorkshirecf.com

It’s always great to hear from new people and I will respond directly to your emails. Yorkshire CF will also be fighting in support of our Mayoral candidate Jonathan Wood who is standing in Doncaster. We intend to hit our political opponents hard and show clearly how Yorkshire CF is well ahead of the pack!
Good luck to those of you who have exams coming up shortly. I wish you every success.

Philip Smith
Regional Chairman

Spring Forum Low Down!

Regional Chairman Philip Smith and South Yorkshire Area Chairman J ames Gould have returned fresh from Spring Forum which was held in Chelenham over the weekend. There was a fantastic atmosphere and it was great to heave David Cameron setting out further details of what an incoming Conservative Government would do in order to address the huge debt burden that Labour will be leaving us with to sort out. It seems that we are always destined to return to power to clear up Labours economic mess! We must not rest on our laurels however and continue to work hard to persuade the public that we are ready to take on the challenge of government as soon as Brown has the bottle to call the election.

Area Chairman News

Andrew Barrett for East Riding of Yorkshire and North East Linconshire

Fresh from the Easter break Hull CF has continued campaigning hard for our parliamentary candidates in Brigg and Goole and Cleethorpes. We are always looking for new members to join the campaign team and I would love to hear from anyone who would like to get more active with East Yorkshire CF!
You can email Andrew at andrew.barrett@yorkshirecf.com

Anna Appleton for North Yorkshire

I am currently supporting York Torys Action Days in York Outer where we spend the majority of campaigning with our fantastic parliamentary candidate Julian Sturdy. I would like to hear from anyone who can help with the establishment of a CF branch in either Harrogate or Selby.
You can contact Anna at anna.appleton@yorkshirecf.com

Dan Paterson for West Yorkshire

First of all, a belated Happy Easter to all of our members, I hope you had a good one. It is a fairly short update this month, I leave it to you to decide whether this is a good or bad thing…

Easter is of course fairly quiet CF wise as the great majority of our members go home for revision and essay writing, however… I am pleased to be able to say that we did get out and do some campaigning for Matthew Lobley, PPC for Leeds North East. We also made further improvements and updates to our website www.westyorkshirecf.co.uk although the site is still undergoing significant work we are gettting there and look forward to be able to present a fully functional website before too long.

If you would like to contact the West Yorkshire exec about getting involved, who your local PPC is or future events you can do so atdan.paterson@yorkshirecf.com

James Gould for South Yorkshire

This month I attended Spring Forum with RC Philip Smith. It was a fantastic weekend and I enjoyed having discussions with our parliamentary candidate for Pensitone and Stocksbridge Spencer Pitfield and Lynda Donaldson for Rother Valley. It was also my first opportunity to meet CF National Chairman Michael Rock who  has provided strong support to Philip and the Yorkshire team.
I am currently working on strengthening our new CF branch in Barnsley. If you would like to join the teams please get in contact with me or alternatively you can communicate directly with the CF branch chairman Jonathan on facebook.

You can contact James at james.gould@yorkshirecf.com

Chris Wales Graduate Officer

Chris is still undertaking work on ways in which he would like to get graduate members involved with the party.

Contact Chris at chris.wales@yorkshirecf.com

Barnsley CF needs you!

The new CF branch set up in Barnsley is progressing well but could do with your support! If you live within South Yorkshire there is the opportunity to join the Barnsley CF committee. Please send an email to James Gould at james.gould@yorkshirecf.com to express interest. Serving on a CF committee can be a very rewarding and fulfilling experience. Just ask the current team!

New CF Websites Launched

The Yorkshire team are strongly committed to providing you with better communication channels. If other CF branches would like to benefit from a new website please get directly in touch with me at chairman@yorkshirecf.com

Yorkshire and Humber Regional Action days

The Regional Campaign Day took place in Bradford West on Sunday 19th in support of our parliamentary candidate Zahid Iqbal. Zahid has been working hard addressing the social and cultural issues that exist in areas of Bradford. It was great to hear about Zahids ideas about how he would like to tackle social deprivation with the aim of properly addressing issues that only a Conservative Government can deal with. There is a lot of hard work to do but Zahid has shown a strong commitment to his constituency and there is no doubt that he will make a fantastic MP after the next election.  Good luck to him!

If you are a local parliamentary candidate and wish to host the Regional Action Day please contact your Area Chairman who will take down your request or email chairman@yorkshirecf.com. The RC, Philip Smith, heads up these action days.
