CF joins Boris to celebrate St George’s Day

Some two dozen Conservative Future activists joined the Mayor of London today at Leadenhall Market to mark St. George’s Day. Boris arrived in typical fashion abroad a Routemaster, greeted by a chorus of cheers from activists and citizens alike.
He gave a speech in which proclaimed that England’s greatest gift to the world was the English language (April 23rd also being Shakespeare’s birthday), and spoke of how St. George embodies so much of what is best about Britain – not least a nose for business and sense of entrepreneurialism. If St George had a vote, he’d probably back the Tories, then, and certainly not Labour after yesterday’s aspiration-crushing tax-bombshell of a Budget.
The market was filled with roasting meat and English ales. All roundly concur that it was fantastic to celebrate this long-neglected date in our national calendar, and to confound the Leftist critics by demonstrating that national pride and intolerance are nothing to do with each other.
