5 minute Q&A with…Mark Francois MP

1 April 2009 admin No Comment

Name: Mark Francois MP
Role: Shadow Minister for Europe

What are you currently working on?

I am helping to prepare the party’s campaign for the forthcoming European elections, as well as working with colleagues in the European Parliament to establish a new Conservative political group in the European Parliament, following those elections.

Who is your political hero?

Winston Churchill

When do you think the next General Election will be?

Unfortunately, that is up to Gordon Brown. We have to be ready to try and win that election whenever he calls it – this year or next.

Why should people get involved with organisations like Conservative Future?

To allow them to have a better voice in the political process and to help get Britain back on its feet again, after over a decade of Labour mismanagement.

Pick one thing about the last 12 years of the Labour government that you would change?

There are lots of things I would change but one example would be giving the British people a referendum on the Treaty of Lisbon – which Labour promised them in their 2005 General Election manifesto but have failed to deliver.
