New branches created in the North East

Blyth Valley CF exec with Barry Flux PPC

As promised two new CF branches have been created in the North East region.

The first new branch is in Blyth Valley and is linked to Barry Flux PPC. Barry commented

“As somebody aged 26 myself, I have seen at first hand, the growth in the number of young activists within the North East, and I have been encouraged by the enthusiasm of our CF members in Blyth Valley as well as being impressed by the numbers getting involved.

Blyth and Cramlington are not university towns so there is not the same level of CF infrastructure as in other parts of the North East. I am sure we can establish the CF branch in Blyth Valley for the long term.”

The Blyth Valley CF exec is:

Ali Ion – Chairman
Chris Wallis – Deputy Chairman (Political)
Daniel Fleming – Deputy Chairman (Membership and Fundraising)
Simon Hartland – Additional Officer
Aaron Spence – Additional Officer

The second new CF branch is in Sunderland and is linked to Lee Martin PPC. The Conservatives are doing extremely well in Sunderland in terms of the local Council and we have great hopes for the PPC Lee Martin.

The Sunderland CF exec is:

Dominic McDonough – Chairman
Bezhan Salehy – Deputy Chairman (Political)
Elizabeth Robinson – Deputy Chairman (Membership and Fundraising)
Andrew Fawcett – Additional Officer (Resources)
James Halliday – Additional Officer (6th Form Relations)

Sunderland CF branch, like Blyth Valley CF, is a non-University branch and will hopefully help in our attempts to galvanise Conservative activists who do not belong to an academic institution.

The creation of these new branches and the large amount of interest that we have already received highlights the fact that Conservatism is growing in the North East region. We have great PPC’s, Councillors and MEP’s to work with and I am sure that the creation of these two new branches will ensure that their work in the North East will go from strength to strength.

For more information on either of these branches please contact me at north.east@conservativefuture.com

A position of a Graduate Officer who will join the North East Region Exec has been created and we are currently accepting applications for this position. This role would entail working with the branch chairman of non University branches and the Area Chairmen to ensure that Conservative supporters and activists who do not belong to an educational institution are included within all CF activities.
