5 minute Q&A with…Shane Greer

23 February 2009 admin No Comment

Name: Shane Greer
Role: Executive Editor of Total Politics

What are you currently working on?

I’m busy with Total Politics at the minute (in particular a few interesting projects that I’m keeping under wraps at the moment).

Who is your political hero?

Margaret Thatcher, for her courage and conviction.

When do you think the next General Election will be?

Not before May 2010.

Why should people get involved with organisations like Conservative Future?

It’s a great way to meet like-minded people, and to get involved in something bigger than yourself. There’s a great social side if that’s what you’re into, but more importantly your efforts will really make the difference in the key marginals. You should get involved if you want to see the UK get the change it really needs.

Pick one thing about the last 12 years of the Labour government that you would change?

Wow, that’s a tough one. But at a push I’d have to go with their obsession for centralisation; Labour don’t trust people to make the right decisions for their own lives, that’s the biggest problem.
